What does it take to be a successful porn star?  Or better put, how does one go from being the girl-next-door to leading PORN actress?  I’ m not sure, but Emma is kind enough to post daily on her TWITTER.

I first featured Emma on this blog in September.

MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE ASSYLUM…

kasp

It did NOT take long for Kasparov to reply to Putin’s comment about Garry being a mediocre politician. And I am not certain if Kasparov’s line of reasoning would hold up to any scrutiny….IN ANY CASE,  c’est la vie!

NIGEL WON’T LOSE ANY SLEEP!

Many on the internet were quick to point out that Nigel was a tad lucky to win against the Israeli grandmaster Greenfeld yesterday:

True enough, Black missed that chance to draw.  After he did not play it, Nigel never gave him another chance and won quickly enough.  Nigel even tweeted about it…

And why should Nigel care about a half-point here or there?  After a long and incredibly successful career spanning 30-odd years, Nigel knows that LUCK does not mean very much.  Infact, it evens out…sometimes one is lucky, at other times unlucky.  When one considers all the half-points lost or won because of luck then the usual count ‘0’.  For example, take  a look at how UNLUCKY Nigel was against gm Beliavsky at Linares 1992:

POSITION AFTER 57 MOVES:

White has a huge positional advantage and excellent practical winning chances.  Instead, UNBELIEVABLY, Short gets mated in 1-move:

58.Ke6?? Bc8++

Nigel was philosophical about this loss…

“Actually during this game I created my first chess problem, a helpmate in two, with a unique solution. Really, my first ever chess problem. I played 57.Nd5 (only move leading to mate in two!) 57…f6+ 58.Ke6?? Bc8 mate.

People ask how could you do that. Well, you can do that when you’ve been playing, in that case, for almost six hours. My flag was rising, I had a few moves to make, the endgame was winning for me, and I just had to make a decision on what to do.

It wasn’t totally clear to me, so I pushed my king up to e6. Unfortunately that allowed mate in one. I know it is funny – I can hear you laughing about it, and I’m sure your visitors will enjoy it. But these things can happen after six hours, when you are simply tired, physically tired.

Then suddenly your heart rate goes up again, because you have to make a decision, you are pressed for time. It is in moments like this that blunders come.” LINK
