About
This site is mostly about chess. Chess players–past and present–chess politics, chess humour, chess nonsense and whatever else I can think of! The good, the bad and the ugly! Feel free to contact me at spraggettblog@yahoo.com The pictures exhibited on this blog are not mine; if you own the copyright then let me know and I will remove it!
Hi Kevin – Interesting blog! I interviewed you for the Star in Hamilton in 1994. Good times! One of my photos got onto reddit and you’re using on your blog https://kevinspraggettonchess.wordpress.com/2011/03/15/how-good-is-your-quebecois/ – since it wasn’t linked back to my page, people think this photo was taken in Quebec – it’s actually in Cornwall, Ontario, and the phrase is used here in French and English – I was wondering if you could put a link back to my page where I explain it here: http://markbellis.blogspot.ca/2009/09/call-in-bin.html !
Dear Kevin, Could you add my famous website Chess Siberia http://www.chessib.com/ in your chess Links?!
Mr. Kevin Spraggett, I love love love your web site. I look at it almost everyday. CHess+naked women+coffee-CCF! Yeah-HOO! On this sad morning (LR rip and much love to Ms. L. Anderson) I’ll simply say a prayer: “shanti shanti shanti”. Or as yr fellow Canadian said, “Long my You run.”–Scot Morison ps pawn to king 4.
Dear Kevin,
Thank you very much for the link.
Best wishes, Boris
I like your blog very much; its my main portal to chess, Errol
Hello Kevin, I am Marilyn, Marty’s sister. I have a question about the little picture you posted. Are the two guys in the forefront Marty and Gary Modler?
Good afternoon Kevin
I have long enjoyed your site
attached is a picture I came across (St Petersburg, 1924)
I was particularly impressed with the number of spectators in attendance at the chess event. Kind of viewership that puts the recent World Championships to shame
