The Good Old days! The Obelisco in Buenos Aires , at the plaza de la Republica. Today it is the most important icon of the city. Alekhine played Capablanca back in 1927 just metres from where this obelisk is today. HOWEVER, the obelisk was built only in 1936, and so neither player saw this during the match! IINSTEAD, in the plaza was a church, St.Nicholas of Bari. The city simply moved the church to another part of town, brick by brick!
