´´Maybe those of us who sit for long hours in meetings, on phone calls, and tapping away at keyboards should be getting hazard pay. New research that distills the findings of 47 studies concludes that those of us who sit for long hours raise our average risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and early death…Even for those of us who meet recommended daily levels of exercise, sitting for long periods of time boosts our likelihood of declining health.´´ ETC,ETC,ETC
If you are like me, when reading crap that masquerades as science, then I question how our universities can produce so much mediocrity. Why aren’t these people looking for a cure for cancer? How about the common cold? But more important, how do such people get grants and financial support?
I understand that doing anything TOO MUCH can never be good for you, but LIFE has inherent risks that we have to accept. Playing video games and/or board games, or just reading a big book, are some of the pleasures of living. And, as my mother-in-law likes to say, the only pre-condition for dying is to be alive. That is, we don’t need to be doing anything WRONG to die…often correlations do NOT exist…LIFE just happens. These pseudo-scientists should consider a career change…perhaps science-fiction!
