The London Classic is going strong this week, both on the board and off. Witness the following excellent video that sees the particpants giving short descriptions of their adversaries…I agree with David Smerdon when he writes: ‘So entertaining! Honestly, I wish organisers did this sort of thing more often. They have such an opportunity with so many top players gathered in one place, basically at their command, and yet the organisers always seem to end up choosing something bizarre for the GMs like tree-planting or wearing funny hats. But this is what we really want to see!’
Is the title of today’s excellent article on one of my favourite blogs, Chess for All Ages Mark Weeks takes to task some ‘Bigger than Life, Holier than Thou’ nonsense (bonehead) that the London tournament organizers have been disseminating to the unwitting press…great reading and entertaining as well. I encourage the reader to take a look!
Things are about to heat up in the London Classic!
Donald Trump seems to have made a lot of enemies (plus-one) yesterday when he suggested that banning all Muslims from visiting the ‘states would be a very good idea to reduce terrorist attacks on US soil…Nigel Short has reacted on his twitter. I also hear that Nigel has decided not to comb his hair ‘Trump-style’ anymore!
Donald Trump’s hair has escaped!
