Quotation of the day
”Garry is a great player and an even better LIAR!….Only Kasparov, with his great ability to imagine things that do not exist, could consider my visit (to Kiev; editor) as a part of “the disruption of the Ukrainian state”. The interest in chess in Ukraine has been increasing…Garry Kasparov is jealous because he is not the one who is proposing to organize the Match in Lviv and Ukraine and he is trying to damage the event by insulting everybody involved.”

ANOTHER CHESS-RELATED SUICIDE?
Although suicide is hardly a subject to be treated lightly, I really get a kick out of how mainstream media constantly tries to exploit it when ever chess is involved. Case in point is the recent story in the USA of a 10-year old school boy who committed suicide after losing a game by throwing himself out of a school window. More recently, today infact, is the following story of a Welsh chess player who took his own life. That he played chess–loved it, infact–there can be no argument, but clearly the man had OTHER PROBLEMS! Was it necessary to shit on chess?
”A chess player who suffered severe ‘mood swings’ relating to his form killed himself after failing to progress in a prestigious chess competition. Craig Woolcock, 43, lived for chess and an inquest hear how his emotional state varied dramatically according to how he was playing.
”Mr Woolcock had even quit his job with the local authority because he ‘was just going to concentrate on his chess’. Craig Woolcock, 43, lived for chess and an inquest hear how his emotional state varied dramatically according to how he was playing” READ MORE AT THE LINK ABOVE.
